gift for your christian husband or christian dad
There are no "How-To" manuals when it comes to parenting and marriage. But fortunately there are some incredibly helpful resources to help us navigate these choppy waters. Whether you're looking for a good read, or need gift ideas for your husband, here are 10-must read books for every Christian dad and husband.

As a bonus, you can download a FREE audio version to any of these books with my promo code by clicking HERE.

1.) Killing Lions

You might be a young dad trying to figure out your own junk. Or maybe you're a dad trying to raise a young man. Maybe both. Either way, this is the book for you. One thing I love most about John Eldredge is his ability to shoot straight and eliminate the fluffy stuff.

2.) Abba's Child

If you're like me, or the majority of people in the world, your dad may have been absent in your life as a child. As a result we have a hard time relating to God as "dad" and have no real example of what a good dad looks like. My counselor recommended this book to me and it has been life changing.

3.) The jesus storybook bible

I honestly recommend this book for both kids and adults. It is amazing. I can't tell you how many people tell me that the Bible seems like a book of random stories compiled together. This children's book beautifully teaches the Bible as one big story.

4.) Intentional Parenting: Raising Passionate Jesus Followers

This is one of the best parenting books I have read. It is both rich in Biblical theology, as well as practical parenting techniques. The Comers have raised some incredible leaders, and this is a sneak peak as to how they did it.

5.) The mingling of souls

When I feel far from Jesus, I do two things. First, I pray that by God's Spirit, he would draw me back to himself. And second, I listen to Matt Chandler, a pastor and author from Texas. He released a book on marriage in January 2015 and as expected, it rocked my world. This is a must read. If you don't like reading, listen to it on audio through Audible. Either way, you need to get it.

6.) The meaning of marriage

I learned more about marriage by reading this book than everything life had taught me about the subject. This is Amazon's description: "Based on the acclaimed sermon series by New York Times bestselling author Timothy Keller, this book shows everyone—Christians, skeptics, singles, longtime married couples, and those about to be engaged—the vision of what marriage should be according to the Bible."

7.) Loveology

John-Mark is a local pastor here in Portland and an incredibly gifted teacher. This book gives a fresh perspective on marriage, sex, and the roles of men and women. It's a great book for anyone, but I have a hunch that if you're a millennial, you will especially resonate with it.

8.) The five love languages

I bought this book within 2 weeks of meeting Leila. I knew immediately that we were wired very differently and that if we wanted to succeed in any kind of serious relationship, we needed to learn how to effectively communicate to each other. We still use this book as a resource in our marriage after 6 years.

9.) Wild At heart

Wild at Heart is one of the very few books that I actually recommend for men to read. If you're a dude who is bored with church and believe God has called us to not just be boys, but men, this book is a must read.

10.) Parenting

In this life-giving book, Paul Tripp offers parents much more than a to-do list. Instead, he presents us with a big-picture view of God’s plan for us as parents. Outlining fourteen foundational principles centered on the gospel, he shows that we need more than the latest parenting strategy or list of techniques. Rather, we need the rescuing grace of God—grace that has the power to shape how we view everything we do as parents.
