Get Your House In Order! Time To Get Practical: 

• In those days Hezekiah became sick and was at the point of death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: Set your house in order, for you shall die, you shall not recover.”
• Get you “If I die book” ready and update it regularly
• Will, trust, Medical directive, power of attorney
• Important financial account “rundown” w/ passwords
• Investment accounts, 401ks, company stock, life insurance
• Beneficiaries updated
• Letter to your family
• 8/10 Married Women will die without their spouse
• Women listening - get your husband to do this!
• Men - this is one of the biggest ways we can serve our wife, kids, or extended families. I want those people to say “He cared about us enough to have his house in order”

Financial Education For Kids: 

• I hear so many young adults wishing they had been taught more about:
• Saving - tell them about how your savings rates recently went up and why
• Investing - tell them why your investments were down last year
• Taxes - have them help you with your taxes or which documents you send to your CPA
• Debt - explain why mortgage rates went up and what a principle and interest payment is
• Giving - let them see you giving and tell them why it’s important
• Do all of this with your kids with one caveat: be mindful of how much your children know about your full financial picture
